On August 25, 2019, about 1405 Pacific daylight time, a Scoda Aeronautica LTDA Super Petrel LS airplane, N632MM, sustained substantial damage during an off-field landing after experiencing a loss of engine power, while flying near General WM J Fox Airfield, (WJF) Lancaster, California. The private pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane was registered to Worldwide Missions Inc., and operated by the pilot as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed for the cross-country flight. The flight originated from Jacumba Airport (L78), Jacumba, California at an undetermined time.

According to the pilot, during the descent into WJF, about 5,500 ft mean sea level, the engine power reduced to a low power setting and was not responsive to throttle movement. He positioned the fuel selector to the opposite tank and confirmed that the fuel shutoff valve was on. Best glide speed was established, and a landing was accomplished on a nearby open field. Subsequently, during the landing roll, the right wing sustained substantial damage.

The airplane was recovered to a secure location for further examination.
