The pilot of the float-equipped airplane reported that, during landing on a lake, he was concerned he would not have enough landing distance and he chose to conduct a go-around. The airplane floats impacted the rocks on the shoreline and the airplane nosed over.
The pilot further reported that, "I should not have added power to my flair."
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the wings and fuselage.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
The automated weather observation station located 4 mile north-east of the accident reported that, about 12 minutes after the accident, the wind was variable at 5 knots and visibility 10 statute miles. The airplane was landing to the east.

MOSES LAKE - A pilot and two passengers in a pontoon plane avoided serious injury when the plane crashed outside Moses Lake Saturday morning.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, first responders were dispatched just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning for reports of a plane crash in the 3500 block of Wild Goose Road Northeast.
Grant County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman confirmed the pilot and two passengers were on board the plane before the crash.
"Pontoon plane skipped onto land and crashed onto a field," the Grant County Sheriff's Office stated. Authorities confirmed there were no injuries.
Authorities said the plane was returned to its owner and the Federal Aviation Administration opted to not investigate.

First responders say the light plane didn't catch fire and there are no initial reports of injuries.

MOSES LAKE, Washington - No injuries reported after a pontoon plane crashed into a field in Grant County.
Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash in Moses Lake on Saturday. The plane crashed into a field at 3500 Wild Goose Rd NE.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
GCSO wrote on Facebook that the plane skipped onto land and then crashed. The plane did not catch on fire after crashing.
The number of passengers aboard the aircraft is still unknown.
