On May 28, 2018, about 2015 central standard time, an experimental Vans RV-8, N214FF, experienced a total loss of engine power enroute to LO Simenstad Municipal Airport (OEO), Osceola, Wisconsin. The pilot subsequently conducted a forced landing into a field and the airplane sustained substantial damage. The private pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane was privately registered and operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight, and no flight plan was filed. The flight originated in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
