Drew Brewer was test-flying an experimental aircraft on Saturday, December 2, when it crashed at the Mondell Field Airport, according to Weston County Sheriff Bryan Colvard.
Teams from the Newcastle Ambulance Service and Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
According to Denise Bradshaw, director of Weston County Homeland Security, dispatch received the call about the accident at 3:16 p.m.
Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene, and arrived less than 10 minutes after the call.
