The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash at the Wayne Executive Jetport today.

No one was injured in the crash.

Sgt. Michael Dorsey with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, who was on the scene to help secure the site of the crash, said a woman was attempting her second solo-landing when the crash happened.

Dorsey said she applied the brake, lost control of the aircraft, went off the runway, hit an embankment and then came to rest in a soybean field.

There were no reported injuries, and Dorsey said it did not appear the airplane flipped before coming to rest in the bean field.

No charges or citations were filed by law enforcement as a result of the crash.

Dorsey said law enforcement notified the FAA of the incident, who will take over the investigation from here.
