AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Augusta Regional Airport did sensational on its most recent inspection.

Augusta Regional Airport received its annual Federal Aviation Administration certification inspection the week of July 31st, and was perfect.

And, every year the  Federal Aviation Administration inspects all commercial service airports in order to ensure compliance with federal regulations and safety mandates.

The Federal Aviation Administration Inspector for Augusta Regional Airport found zero discrepancies, giving the Airport a 100 percent approval rating for the third year in a row.

Thus, all operational departments are reviewed to ensure compliance with training procedures and employee certification qualifications, according to a press release.

The inspection covered all aspects of the Airport’s operations, including Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting operational procedures and response times, maintenance repair processes, and operational safety and security processes.

“We are very proud to receive a zero discrepancy report on our annual safety inspection. Safety is perhaps the most important thing that we do,” said Herbert Judon Jr., Executive Director of Augusta Regional Airport. “However, we won’t rest on our laurels. We understand that safety is an everyday process and we will continue to strive to improve our posture.”
