MANILA - A Bacolod-bound Airbus 320 plane of Cebu Pacific was forced to return to Manila after it was hit by a bird strike upon takeoff at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Friday.

The Cebu Pacific commercial flight 5J 475 with registry number RPC 3260 had just taken off at 7:44 a.m. when the pilot in command, Capt. Wilmer Nicdao, requested Manila control tower for emergency landing due to bird strike.

The plane, which was carrying 104 passengers and 6 crew members, landed safely at the airport and underwent routine safety check.
