TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -
A pair of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft will fly over the site of Super Bowl XLIX around noontime on Thursday.
The fighter aircraft and pilots will pass over the University of Phoenix stadium at a few thousand feet above ground level.
The flyover is meant to spotlight North American Aerospace Defense Command's mission to enforce the FAA's temporary flight restrictions during the NFL championship game on Feb. 1.
The F-16s and pilots taking part are assigned to the Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Wing in Tucson.
On game day, NORAD Fighters will be enforcing the FAA's temporary flight restriction area over the stadium.
The 162nd Wing performed this mission in 2008 when its aircraft and pilots enforced the FAA's temporary flight restriction during Super Bowl XLII.
