ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - The St. Louis Metro Air Support Unit has added an additional helicopter to its operations.
The new air unit will enhance the unit's ability to perform search and rescue missions, increase patrols, and provide greater support to first responders.
The MD500E jet turbine helicopter is equipped with special computers and lighting to aid its mission objectives.
The helicopter was purchased through a grant program run by the Department of Homeland Security.
