ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It’s very dangerous, highly illegal…and apparently still unresistable to a few pranksters out there.

The FAA reports that there was another incident over the weekend involving a bright green beam from a handheld laser pointer being shone into the cockpit of an airplane.

The laser was pointed into the left side of the cockpit of a 737 as it was on approach to Lambert around 6:20 Sunday evening.

The plane was 5 miles out and still about 2,000 feet above the ground at the time, but officials weren’t willing to release any other information about what airline was involved or which direction the plane was coming from.

Nobody was hurt and the plane landed without incident.

Just last week, a St. Charles man was charged with shining his laser at both a plane and a helicopter last November.

30-year-old Brian Monday faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 dollar fine if convicted.
