LONDON - Japan's Skymark Airlines Inc. has signed a letter of intent that will equip six Airbus A380 aircraft with Trent 900 engines supplied by U.K. engine maker Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, according to a statement on the Japanese carrier's website.
The value of the deal, which includes engines and maintenance, is about $1 billion, people familiar with the matter said.
The Trent engines will be supplied on aircraft due for delivery from 2014, one person said.
