British military cadet dies in skydiving exercise above Lake Elsinore, southern California.

Harry Whitworth was described as an "extraordinary and charming young man"

The British Military is investigating a skydiving accident that killed a Londoner in Riverside County.

22-year-old Harry Whitworth, of London, England, died of his injuries three days after he collided mid-air with another parachutist above Lake Elsinore, according to Riverside County coroner reports.

Reports indicate Whitworth was performing a training exercise at Skydive Elsinore on Aug. 26. He died of his injuries on Aug. 29, at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.

The sheriff's department said they could not provide additional details on the incident, and directed further questions to the British consulate, who couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
