On February 13, 2018, about 1415 mountain standard time, a Schweizer 269D helicopter, N471RA, collided with snow-covered terrain while maneuvering at a low altitude shortly after takeoff from a private residence located near Stockbridge, Michigan. The pilot and passenger sustained minor injuries, and the helicopter sustained substantial damage. The airplane was registered to C. Aaron LLC, and operated by the private pilot under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 without a flight plan.
