The Mingo County Airport Authority has received a grant of more than $334,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements at Appalachian Regional Airport in Williamson, according to U.S. Rep. Even Jenkins, R-W.Va.
The money will be used to pave two taxi lanes to connect to the airplane hangars, he said in a news release.
"The Appalachian Regional Airport holds tremendous potential for economic development and tourism and can provide much-needed jobs for Mingo County," Jenkins said. "Our transportation infrastructure is the key to growing and attracting new employers to our region."
