DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: On 3/29/2017 while in cruise flight the propeller lost approximately 4 inches off one tip. Severe engine vibration during remaining flight to a successful landing.
DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES: Propeller failure with severe vibration requiring engine teardown inspection, engine mount repair and/or recertification, propeller replacement, firewall and airframe inspection and repair as needed. Aircraft landed without further incident.
LOCATION OF AIRCRAFT: Private hangar at Taylor, TX (T74)
REMARKS: Aircraft appears to be in overall good condition however an inspection may reveal other damage. Last annual inspection completed 7/4/2016 at 3047.2 TTSN.
