TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -
Indiana State University trustees have approved the school opening its
own flight academy at Terre Haute International Airport.
The
school can now negotiate a four-year lease for a classroom, office and
hangar space at the airport. Indiana State's vice president for academic
affairs Jack Maynard says the space at the airport will allow the
program to become even more distinctive and more attractive to potential
students.
Department chair Harry Minniear says the school's
aviation technology department will manage the flight academy's daily
operations. The school will have airplanes to train student pilots.
