PRESCOTT - Jeff
Tripp, who has worked for the Prescott Airport off and on over the past
decade and a half, recently accepted the position of permanent airport
manager.
The city announced the appointment on its website this week, reporting that Tripp began work on Dec. 14.
Tripp,
a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, worked first as a
temporary airport maintenance employee in the late 1999s, before taking
on the role of assistant airport manager in 1999. He served as assistant
manager until 2006, and then returned to the airport in a temporary
capacity from September 2011 to March 2012.
Most recently, he worked for the City of Mesa at Falcon Field as an Airport Projects Supervisor.
Tripp holds a master's degree in aeronautical science in aviation and aerospace safety systems.
Tripp
will replace former Airport Manager Ben Vardiman, who resigned this
past year. The city's human resources department reported that the
search for a new manager attracted 53 applicants, 19 of whom were from
Arizona.
