No more runway remained if they did not attempt the turn. Probably was not "practice", either very late abort or just taxied too fast.

Look at where they ended up:
http://maps.google.com/maps?t=k&q=loc:30.054264+-95.551742
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6060827553081940333.post-69508816095848298462020-07-22T20:18:08.022-04:002020-07-22T20:18:08.022-04:00That is a very sad outcome if all they did was pra...That is a very sad outcome if all they did was practice an engine malfunction on TO run - all that needs to be done is close the throttles and instinctively maintain directional control with the rudder.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6060827553081940333.post-8810366590589194712020-07-16T21:00:18.824-04:002020-07-16T21:00:18.824-04:00^^Thank you! How is that thing still standing and there's no visible damage to the right wing leading edge or engine cowling? Are these light fixtures made of rubber and bend? Yes, this is a real question.
