There is usually a way out when the fan stops turning but we as pilots don’t always respond as trained. We make poor decisions because we’re human. Total engine failure makes you pick a landing spot and commit. Partial engine failure seems to give false hope to pilots. In many cases the pilot was the owner of the aircraft. I wonder if they are trying to save the airplane.
