Last month, a very very dedicated fan who previously tried to steal a plane to go see Famous Dex in concert got sentenced to five years of felony probation. Since the news went viral based on Zemarcuis Scott's crazy stunt, obviously Famous Dex got word of the fan dedication and told TMZ how he plans on doing something about it.
"Nowadays the internet there's so much bullcrap that I thought it was fake," Famous, born Dexter Gore Jr., told the publication. "It was really real. That being said, I'mma fly him out. I'mma put him in the nicest, biggest hotel in LA. I'mma get him, no tickets to the show, but he's gon' stand next to my DJ. So that means he's gon' come in with me. I'mma fly him out to LA and take him shopping."

TEXARKANA -- An 18-year-old man arrested July 4th after attempting to steal a commercial jet to fly to a rap concert pleaded guilty Thursday and received a five-year term of felony probation.
Zemarcuis Scott appeared before Circuit Judge Carlton Jones late Thursday afternoon with Managing Public Defender Jason Mitchell and pleaded guilty to attempted theft of property and commercial burglary.
Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Chuck Black said Scott received five years of probation on each charge, to run concurrently. Scott must pay a $1,000 fine, court costs and participate in any mental health treatment deemed necessary by the probation department. Black said Scott is not allowed on Texarkana Regional Airport property while he's on probation.
Scott intended to take an American Eagle twin-engine jet from Texarkana Regional Airport in the early hours of Independence Day to see rapper Famous Dex perform in Illinois, according to a probable cause affidavit and psychological evaluation report.
Airport security personnel had noticed Scott jump a fence onto the property about 2:30 a.m. and immediately called police.
When Texarkana police officers arrived, Scott was sitting in the pilot's seat of the small commercial plane.
Scott told investigators that he wasn't concerned about his lack of training as a pilot and believed that operating the aircraft was just a matter of pulling levers and pushing buttons.
He also told investigators that he had been thinking about stealing a plane for about a month and had been watching the twin-engine jet since 10 p.m. July 3rd.
At a hearing in August at which Scott pleaded innocent to attempted commercial burglary and attempted theft of property, Mitchell asked the court to order a mental evaluation for Scott to determine if he was competent to stand trial.
In a report filed December 21st in Miller County, a psychologist with Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center found that Scott is competent.

Hope he gets the help he needs.

ReplyDeleteHope he gets the prison sentence he deserves.
I wonder which lever pulling or button pushing he was referring too?
ReplyDeleteNot to worry. Boeing project manager, Jonathan Standridge, will share his aerospace knowledge with this fine upstanding, respectful young man.
ReplyDeleteProbation?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that'll teach him a lesson...
He watched Snoop Dogg's movie "Soul Plane" one too many times. The obvious aside like he could never have even fired it up due to specific procedures needing to be done in order, I wonder how he managed to figure out how to open the door. That is not something just anyone can figure out. He must have been watching crews access these regional jets for some time. This reminds me of the bait car setups where the cops plant a stick shift car and the thieves don't how to start it up and get it going.
ReplyDeleteWho is Famous Dex?
ReplyDeleteI'll bet a cheap street drug was part of the mental direction he was headed in... and his moma said ; "you can be anything you want to be " ..... i.e.; big time pilot............ yeh right.
ReplyDeleteOh behave.
ReplyDelete"believed that operating the aircraft was just a matter of pulling levers and pushing buttons".
ReplyDeleteObviously, he learned this in his third year of the third grade at his no child left behind school.
Addressing "If you are poor and don't have access to the resources you need, that's where those with mental illness end up in our country." above....
ReplyDeleteCrime isn't a mental illness - stupidity might be, but crime isn't.
Who else was going to let this young man onto a flight deck? I guess he had to let himself on. Soooo sad?
ReplyDeleteOK, have any of you privileged aviators been to Texas or Alabama? I have. Originating on the best coast, I was extremely shocked. Ugly! Couldn't understand the attitudes. Said C-ya!
ReplyDeleteWhile some of you grew up with a room of your own, birthday parties, and perhaps even summer camp; there are many children who are chronically ignored, underfed, and perhaps abused. Their "education" is little more than what they see on television. Their personal time is spent trying to stay safe from family members, get enough to eat, or find clothing that is suitable for school. In order to benefit from our free education system, children need some basic support systems that many do not have. So when you want to deride this youngster, think for a moment how lucky you have been to have what you have. Maybe in the future you will offer a child like this a smile or some advice or encouragement.
ReplyDeleteWe grew up on a working farm. Our farm house consisted of two bedrooms, 1 bedroom for my parents, and 1 bedroom with 6 siblings. We NEVER celebrated birthdays, Christmas gifts were books (not wrapped in gift paper), no telephone, no indoor plumbing, black and white television that only our parents had control of what and when we watched TV - we didn't dare change the TV or radio stations, no vacations, no 1 day trips, walked for miles and miles to attend church on Sundays, read newspapers, books, letters, greeting cards that the family exchanged. No time for attention was given any siblings, no tears when we had major injuries working the farm, no playing around with Dad's loaded guns in the farmhouse, we slaughtered chickens - hung them out to dry, plucked the feathers (most meals were chicken), took care of the barn chores before walking to school bus stop - miles away, helped Mom out with household chores when we arrived back home from school, we helped Dad skin minks - hung them on pelt drying wood stretcher boards, we fed the minks raw horsemeat. We took care of the milking goats, horses, sheep, worked the fields for crops, our clothes were hand-me-downs, etc, etc. If we did anything bad, we knew discipline was expected. We honored our father and mother, did not steal, respected others property, never trespassed, took our hats off before entering a building and when greeting others, we saluted and pledged allegiance with the right hand over our hearts, stood at attention when appropriate, etc., etc.
ReplyDeleteToday's kids and young adults are ANIMALS! They can't be rehabilitated!
Just yesterday while waiting in line at a drive-through at the famous fast food restaurant, I witnessed a vehicle loaded with young Caucasian males literally throw a bunch of trash out their vehicle windows onto the parking lot ground where customers would walk. An older African-American male who happened to be leaving the restaurant saw what had just occurred and went over to the trash picked it up with his bare hands and it put in the trash receptacle.

^ You are so naive. Go ahead - "offer smiles, advice, encouragement" and you will be given back middle-fingers, defiant attitudes and robbed and beaten to a pulp.

BTW, for a farmboy/farmgirl, you write very well!

ReplyDeleteand now I am a hate spewing mongrel. Which supports the previous poster's thesis.
Just shows how these uneducated punks think intimidation is a tool to use. [Laughing out loud.] They fail to learn, and that leads to failure.
ReplyDeleteI can remember shoveling pea coal (furnace) for heating the house. Making lard and scrapple sandwiches on school days. Hanging clothes outside on the clothes line in the wintertime, and then taking frozen clothes off the line and letting them finish drying on top of the coal furnace. I only had one pair of shoes for the entire school year. By the time the school year ended there were these big holes on the bottom of my shoes and as my feet grew my toes were ripping through the front of the shoes. I never stole shoes or anything. Stealing is not excusable.
ReplyDeleteThis pilot grew up on public assistance, "food stamps" and "welfare" as it was called back then. The only encouragement I ever got was from my invisible friend whom I called "Johnny", as it turned out his real name was Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThere was no damage reported nor theft. Just attempted and given his lack of training, he was not going to even get aircraft started. This was a teenager yet many of the comments here treat him as a hardened criminal which he was not. We need to be more compassionate for anyone who is less privileged than us. Probation is not an easy outcome as he now has a record that will follow him for life.
ReplyDeleteThe only damage done here was to this individuals future. Hopefully, after probation, the charges can be reduced and expunged.
ReplyDeletePill junkies!! They ain’t gonna live long . . .
ReplyDeleteWhoever said "We need to be more compassionate for anyone who is less privileged than us."
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't include crimes against property or people. Compassion is for someone that is sick. My sympathy for this person ended when he jumped the fence. He knew what he was doing was wrong and did it anyway. Besides, he wasn't going to steal the plane to fly his sick relative to another city where he could get help. He "planned" this heist for his own selfish reasons. No sympathy for that, and I don't care one iota what his upbringing was like.
Yo, av8rdav, hold the phone partner!
ReplyDeleteThe post that said "Who else was going to let this young man onto a flight deck? I guess he had to let himself on." Put it well.
He didn't harm anything. Half the pilots that fly the thing came from very well to do backgrounds that never had to do anything.
Everyone lighten-up for COL.
Mr. Gore, just get this kid flying lessons!

ReplyDelete"He a good boy". Just beginning to get his life in order, was going to attend college in the spring, just doing teenager pranks like stealing it's a victimless crime besides that it's owed to him.
